Elimination Drive Cervical Cancer

Likewise Polio, this year our District also worked on the eradicating risk of Cervical Cancer. Under the guidance of AG Rtn. Vandana Bhalla, who is also District Chair for Cervical Cancer Elimination Drive, our Club also joined hands to support the cause. Under this program girls from the age of 9 – 16 were given two shot of Vaccination, which will eliminate the possibility of Cervical Cancer for the life.

We held 1st dose of camp at Balwantrai Mehta Balwantray Mehta Vidya Bhawan, Lajpat Bhawan and Vaccinated 140 girls from BMVB School and DAV School, Vasant Kunj. After 6 months, we held camp for 2nd dose at Balwantray Mehta Vidya Bhawan, Lajpat Bhawan and Vaccinated 179 girls from BMVB School, DAV School, Vasant Kunj. During the camp for 2nd Dose the first round of vaccinations was provided to 36 girls from Saksham Camp, Coolie Colony. The second dose will be administered after 5-6 months.

We also conducted at 1st dose of camp at Shaheed Bishan Singh Memorial Senior Secondary School, and vaccinated 166 girls.

An awareness session was also conducted with girls and their parents before the scheduling of vaccination camp at both of the above mentioned schools. Apart from these schools, we also conducted awareness session at Kulachi Hansraj Model School, Ashok Vihar – Ph III and BR Ambedkar Vidhyalaya, Dakshin puri, but didn’t find numbers to organize a vaccination drive.
